This project involved extensive consultation with over 4,500 households leading to a stock transfer to Riverside Housing Association. The master plans further developed in support of a Housing Market Renewal Bid which was successful.

Over £100m is now being spent with a mixture of private sector and public sector funding. There is significant support form the Bank of Canada. The project involves new housing, tower block demolition, new primary schools and nursery schools, new retail centre, a business park, community buildings and radical changes to the open space hierarchy and traffic infrastructure.
